STAR VALLEY

Located south of Jackson Hole through the picturesque Snake River Canyon, Star Valley is home to a diverse population, a plethora of animals, outdoor recreation spots, and breathtaking landscapes. About 40 miles north to south and 10 miles across, Star Valley is made up of the towns of Afton, Alpine, Auburn, Bedford, Etna, Fairview, Freedom, Grover, Osmond, Smoot, Thayne, and Turnerville - part of Lincoln County, Wyoming. 

With smaller populations and plenty of breathing room, these historic Wyoming towns nonetheless boast a good selection of restaurants, hotels, and activities, indoors and out. The Palisades Reservoir is a popular location for water sports and camping, and the surrounding national Forests (Bridger Teton and Caribou) offer year round recreation. Dairy cows graze in the lush, verdant agricultural fields across the valley and residences alternate between with more contemporary ranch-style homes and expansive historic ranches that were originally constructed to house the Mormon families that first settled here.
