About 30 miles west of Jackson, you will find Teton Valley, Idaho just over Teton Pass. Teton Valley has often been referred to as "the quiet side of the Tetons" and is a popular area for families, a younger demographic, and those commuting daily to Jackson. The towns of Driggs, Victor, Tetonia and Alta (technically over the border of Wyoming) are nestled up on the West side of the Teton range's 13,000-foot peaks, along Idaho's eastern border. The town of Alta, Wyoming can only be accessed through Idaho and is home to Grand Targhee Ski Resort.
The Teton River flows gently between the angular, snow-capped Tetons to the east and the sloping Big Hole Mountains to the west. Beautiful new residences along the slopes contrast with old farmsteads dotted over the valley bottom. Long time local families and recent transplants from the Jackson side of the pass who have come for the more affordable housing prices and quieter, western way of life, as well as new residents from across the country make up the local population of this quickly growing area.
