For the First-Chair Regular: Teton Village
If your ideal morning starts on the tram at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort or your dream day is skiing or riding bell-to-bell, living in Teton Village can’t be beat in terms of being closest to the action.
With ski-in/ski-out properties, condos, and mountain homes, Teton Village is ideal for those who want to maximize time on the slopes and minimize time in the car. If you imagine spending your full day on the hill and your apres at the base, the Village is the place to be.
Check out properties along Granite Ridge Road if a private rope tow to the lifts sounds up your alley. Looking for more of a high-end club-style experience with no shortage of added amenities? Shooting Star might be your place. If you’re more keen on condo living, there are plenty of options across the Village
For the Backcountry Skier: Wilson & the Base of Teton Pass
If you'd rather earn your turns than ride lifts for the day, Wilson and the west side of Jackson Hole offer convenient access to the backcountry terrain surrounding Teton Pass. Living near the base of the pass means you're closer to popular touring areas, with the added benefit of Wilson's small-town atmosphere and proximity to Jackson.
Properties along Fish Creek Road, Fall Creek Road, and Second Street in Wilson are popular locations among backcountry enthusiasts who want to get laps in during the week without sacrificing the travel time.
For the After-Work Laps: Town of Jackson
For skiers who like to squeeze in a tour or a few runs between work and dinner, living in the Town of Jackson means having Snow King Mountain practically in your backyard, no matter what part of town you live in.
Known as the Town Hill, Snow King offers steep terrain, night skiing, and easy access to downtown restaurants, shops, and local events. Many locals get their daily cardio skinning up Snow King before or after work (or for a lunch lap if you’re lucky), and the convenience of being in town really can’t get much better.
For the Powder-Day Explorer: Victor & Driggs, Idaho
If wide-open terrain, deep snow, and a quieter mountain-town lifestyle sound like your kind of winter, look across Teton Pass to Victor and Driggs, Idaho.
Both communities offer closer access to Grand Targhee Resort, known for its abundant snowfall and uncrowded, down-to-earth feel. Driggs is the closer of the two to the resort, while Victor offers convenient access to Teton Pass and the Jackson Hole side of the Tetons. If you’re someone who wants lift access to great snow without as many people, the Idaho side of the Tetons might be the spot for you.
